The spatial turn of the 1990s as well as the conversation between memory studies and environmental history resulted in several landmark studies that link memory, environment and landscape. The purpose of the event is to bring together the leading researchers in this complex field to discuss the role of stories about the past in the epoch of environmental-ecological crisis and how the approach that the participants apply can talk to events and eras of ‘national/international political importance’.
